69 Echo & the Bunnymen Songs

i bought a box set of echo & the bunnymen last night and listened to it when i woke up this morning. this is how many things you can do while listening (or that i did): make apple, fennel, lemon, ginger juice, make tofu scramble from scratch, deep condition your hair, clean up juice and breakfast dishes, 10 sun salutations and shoulder stands, separate laundry, take a long shower that includes shaving and exfoliating, compose a blog entry (now) and it's still going. what did rah do the whole time: SLEEP.
so i had to wake her up...just for a second.
still got 3 songs left...

brother and rah reunion

my big brother, scott, came to visit tuesday night. i had been in an accident the weekend before, suffering head trauma and a broken nose, and he wanted to make sure i was 'really' ok. the last time we saw each other was in 2005. rah was happy to see her long lost friend. here they are getting reacquainted. he left on thursday after a good catch-up, in which it felt like no time had passed and we were still those two teen siblings on gaga's couch making each other laugh.

i tried to groom rah again, three years later, and i think the results are even worse. what a trooper.

an old story about pru and l.a.

one afternoon, i noticed prudie obsessively balancing on a wicker chair and gazing up at the sky.
then without losing her gaze, she moved to the table to get a closer look.
finally, when i looked up i discovered what the fuss was about. her exact opposite: the short haired black cat was staring right back at her from the roof. i couldn't tell if it was love or prudie protecting the palace.
i miss that patio, but wish it was in brooklyn. and of course i miss prudie.

we lost our dear prudence pulitzer at 6:40 pm this evening. she was a beautifully earnest little creature and adored everyone who waltzed through our door. many galleries of my love tk.
